On June 21 2018, youth council member Kayla Zhu traveled to Fairfax County to table at the Eco-Schools Leadership Initiative’s Environmental Education conference. Held at the National Wildlife Federation’s headquarters, students at the conference learned effective environmental education games and skills that prepared them to educate kids in their community. They also had the opportunity to participate in workshops with experienced environmental educators, enjoy a sustainable meal, and join a network of students passionate about the environment. Kayla had the opportunity to make connections with local organizations there, in addition to talking with students interested in what Greening Forward has to offer.
