The EcoGeeks are Berkmar High School’s first environmental club. Their accomplishments include building a greenhouse, campus clean-ups, recycling, gardening, and constructing rain barrels. By getting students involved in sustainable service projects, The EcoGeeks hope to raise awareness and motivate young environmentalists to save the planet. Through Greening Forward, the EcoGeeks created an Earthbench with cob, plastic bottles, re-purposed waste, and other materials. An EarthBench is a symbolic structure that represents how to reduce landfill waste by re-purposing various types of materials.
