About
John James Audubon School #33 is located in Rochester, one of the nation’s highest concentrations of families living in poverty. Students at John James Audubon face many challenges, and need something that they can feel apart of. The Green Team, a group of ecologically-minded movers and shakers, provides that opportunity.
With Greening Forward’s grant, the team reused about 500 milk cartons to make planters, a trellis, and arbor. The eco movement has engaged students to plant 100 trees and recycle over 16 tons of waste. They also created a garden for outdoor education and a bench as a sharing spot for students and staff.
