Greening Forward was founded in 2008 as one of the first student-driven environmental groups in the US. For over 13 years, we supported youth leaders across the country in advancing their initiatives through mechanisms such as mini-grants, climate leadership and organizing summits, and peer-to-peer mentorship. In 2023, we pivoted to establishing and fostering a transformative youth movement in Cameroon for the protection of the environment. This work, driven by Cameroonian Forbi Perise and his grassroots team, is exciting and constantly evolving, as we implement unique programs that impact thousands of young people and community members each year.

Legacy programs
From 2008 to 2022, Greening Forward engaged thousands of youth each year through an array of unique and empowering environmental programs. These initiatives focused on developing young people into climate leaders and then providing them with the resources to go into the world and create real positive change. Through programs like the Earth Savers Club, the Empowered Young Environmentalist Summit, and the Green Media Contest, we facilitated over $80,000 worth of youth-led eco-projects that saved water resources, reduced waste, protected natural ecosystems, and increased environmental education in schools.
